Ben verliebte sich zum ersten Mal in Merton, nachdem er es vor über 20 Jahren auf dem Sofa der Eltern eines Freundes entdeckt hatte. Es wurde 1905 von John Henry Dearle entworfen und zeigt eine spitzbogige Wiederholung stilisierter Granatäpfel und Tulpen, umgeben von zarten Blumenäpfeln und geschwungenen Akanthusblättern.
