ランブリング・ローズは、森の散策路やコテージガーデンの象徴とも言えるイングリッシュローズを描いています。棘のあるこのバラは、絡み合い、曲がりくねり、魅惑的な迷路のような構造をしており、大地の愛と純潔の象徴であることを物語っています。壁紙では珍しいバラですが、ウィリアム・モリスはタペストリーだけでなく詩にも繰り返しこのバラをモチーフとして用いました。
1877 年の「ローズ」(ここでは「ランブリング ローズ」と呼ばれています) が、エメリー ウォーカー ハウス コレクションで長年ぶりにモリス社の製品ラインナップに戻ってきました。
